Set Up UPI PIN Without ATM/Debit Card on PhonePe

Do you know, now PhonePe users can create UPI PIN without an ATM/Debit Card? After linking your bank account with any UPI application like PhonePe, Gpay, Paytm, etc for the first time, you need to create your UPI PIN by submitting your debit card details.

But now you don’t need to enter your debit card details to set up your UPI PIN, you can now create UPI PIN using your Aadhaar card. Yes, if your bank account and Aadhaar card registered mobile number are the same then you can authenticate your Aadhaar using OTP and create your UPI PIN.

PhonePe: Create UPI PIN Without ATM Card

(Step 1) Go to the PhonePe profile section and add your bank account for the first time, tap on “ADD BANK ACCOUNT” & select your bank to link with PhonePe.

(Step 2) After linking your bank account, you can see your account details on the next screen. Tap on “SET UPI PIN” to create your UPI PIN.

(step 3) Next screen, to create your UPI PIN, you will be asked to enter your ATM/Debit card details, just below you can see the “Authenticate using Aadhaar Number?” option, select this option, and proceed.

(Step 4) Next screen confirm your choice and tap on ACCEPT & PROCEED

(step 5) In the next step, you need to submit your Aadhaar card’s first 6-digit number. Enter the number and proceed further.

(Step 6) Next screen authenticate your Aadhaar card using One Time Password sent to your Aadhaar registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit.

(step 7) Next screen, enter the OTP received on your bank registered mobile number and submit.

(Step 8) In the next screen, you can set up your UPI PIN.

So if you don’t have your ATM/Debit Card then use the Aadhaar card-based authentication process and create your UPI PIN on PhonePe. Please note, to reset your UPI PIN, currently, you can not use your Aadhaar card.
